RGP Security are pleased to offer First Aid at Work Training.

 

Regulated courses will be with one of the following Awarding Organisations - Qualsafe/Pro Training.

First Aid Courses and Contents

​

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

​

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 (amemed 2013) require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

Over a 3 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.

Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

​

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Refresher)

​

Over the 2 day period, Learners will re-develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.

​

£120 per person + VAT

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Annual Refresher)

​

Over a half day period, Learners will leave with a renewed confidence having had the opportunity to practise essential first aid procedures, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, recovery position, CPR, choking and more.

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

​

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all early years providers in England to have at least one person who has a current and full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and available at all times when children are present. Providers should also take into account the number of children, staff and layout of the premises and increase their paediatric first aid provision accordingly to ensure that a paediatric first aider is available to respond to emergencies quickly.

This has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:

​

  • Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.

  • Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.

  • Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Newly qualified entrants to an early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full paediatric first aid or an emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.

​

Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more.

 

£120 per person + VAT

Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid

​

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (Annual Refresher)

​

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been specifically designed to provide qualified paediatric first aiders with an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and practice key paediatric first aid skills every year until requalification training is required.

​

The course is intended for qualified paediatric first aiders wishing to refresh their skills and knowledge..

Throughout this 3 hour course, Learners will renew their confidence by practising essential paediatric first aid procedures, including: CPR, the recovery position, choking and more.

Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Course

​

Combining both of these into 3 extended days of classroom learning, this specially designed course provides Learners with all of the skills and knowledge needed to provide both adult and paediatric first aid, whilst minimising the number of training days required to achieve both qualifications. 

​

Streamlined perfectly to avoid the duplication of topics associated with attending both the First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid courses separately, the Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid course has been specifically designed for those who work in settings that require both First Aiders and Paediatric First Aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings.

​

Over 3 extended days, Learners will develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to provide effective first aid for adults, children and infants. Topics include: CPR and AED use, choking, stroke, head injuries, fractures, asthma and much more.

​

 

Please note that Learners will be required to repeat the full 3 day course in order to re-qualify.

Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator

​

This regulated recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in basic life support and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) usage in emergency situations.

​

The qualification has been designed for those who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide BLS when dealing with an emergency situation which may involve using an AED.

​

Over a half day period, Learners will develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations and safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Topics covered include: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, using an AED on both adults and children, combining AED use with CPR and more.

​

£50 person + VAT

Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation

​

During this half day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to administer effective CPR and use an AED when dealing with an emergency situation. Topics covered include: CPR, choking, safe use of an AED, using an AED on a child, AED maintenance and more.

Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis

​

Over a half day period, successful Learners will attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: managing a casualty with anaphylaxis, CPR, common anaphylaxis triggers, signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, treatment and more.

Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children

​

During this half day course, Learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures, including:  assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, recovery position, CPR and choking.

​

This enables Learners to gain the skills and knowledge needed to administer safe, prompt, effective first aid in situations which can arise when providing care.

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, external bleeding, shock and minor injuries.
